Use extra red/yellow diode wires for another Xenon?

Hi,

I ordered a NAND-X and installed the QSB onto a Xenon with no problem.

Now I have an extra set of NAND wires and an extra red/yellow wire that has diodes on it for a non-xenon install. My question is, can I use these wires for a XENON install?

I know I can solder all the nand wires to the motherboard, but can I just cut off the pin header from the yellow/red wire and solder it to the JTAG points just like this: http://forums.xbox-scene.com/index.php?showtopic=693742

The extra wire I am talking about is the one in this picture: http://www.xconsoles.com/xecuter-non-xenon-jtag-kit-kit-2.html

It already has diodes in it, so i don't see why I couldn't do it.....

just checking before I do this.

Thanks!

It's says non xenon so that should point you towards the answer !
You can buy them from modtraders.co.uk or ck3.co.uk in the UK or xconsoles.com in the US for next to nothing.. do the job properly dude or your only going to give yourself a headache ;)

well, I have the extra wires so I figured I might as well use them.

I know the red/yellow wire is for non-xenons, but that is only because non-xenons can't use a QSB for the JTAG part. The QSB for xenons already has diodes on the QSB.

I'm pretty sure that I can use the red/yellow wires on a xenon board to do the JTAG, the wires just contain diodes soldered to them.

has anyone tried this? Can someone from team-xecuter confirm that this will work?

thanks for the help.

I can confirm that this indeed does work! I tried it out tonight on a xenon mobo and it booted up xell and freeboot with no problems.

I figured it would work because the diodes that non-xenon boards use are the exact same diodes that xenon board use.

:D
