I wasn't really sure where to post this so if a mod feels is more appropriate in a different section please move it.

so I have an official Microsoft 4gb internal memory chip that I was going to solder into a 250gb console that I was planning on using it online.

my question is will Microsoft know it should not have it and ban my console or is it safe to do( I know there are no guarantee's it won't get banned I was just looking for some more experienced opinions)

thanks for any opinions!

What type of console is it? I know with non 4gb trinitys, the stock system wont see it if it isnt supposed to be there, with coronas v4/v6, it is more work then it is worth, because depending on the version, the nand is a bga chip and requires a rework station to remove it. Now, I know that they cant detect it if you go from 4gb to 16mb, but that requires moving a bunch of resistors around.

It is a slim 250gb trinity that had no internal memory so it does not have plug ( for lack of a better term) but I can solder leads off the points to the 4gb chip.

You could, but it would be easier to get the module, as it will only see certain chips, and I think the module has some resistors on it also. Also, if the xbox is stock, it wont see it anyway. :(

If you are tunning a dual nand system it is kind of nice, as you have it as an extra storage space on your rgh side, with a couple of modifications to the xebuild settings. :)
