FIXED Used Slim off Ebay locked!!

Just wondering if an Xbox slim with the following message can be fixed?

"Sorry, this console can't play until your subscription payments are up to date."


It appears that this was one of those 99.00 deals with a live contract for 2 years which was never paid off, thinking if I gan RGH this thing and flash a retail Nand back to it if it would work again maybe not online but as RGH or just a regular console?

The message will pop up in about a minute regardless if I have an internet connection or not. I already tried formatting the onboard storage and flushing the cache so there must be something in the Nand that tries to phone home and if it can't the message still pops-up.

I did call Microsoft to see it they could tell me how much was left tp pay on the contract and they said "I need to know the account used to sign-up for the 2 yr agreement" they also told me that there has been alot of this where people are buying the consoles for 99.00 and selling them on Ebay for 200.00 or more, some with sealed boxes that run into this about a month after purchase.

I am guessing I am probably screwed!

I can't see any reason why you wouldn't be able to glitch it.

Where are they storing the account number/ info for the payment etc. internal memory? Could you just swap the 4gb memory? Is it associated with the serial number? Sorry asking more question and answering none........

skillet34, No idea where the information is stored I do know the console serial is tied with the account that originally signed up for the contract. I could try to remove the 4GB memory and see what happens the console has build date of 12-3-2011

build it with the nomobile option selected, or extract the main files and build an image without nanddump.bin. That way it's completely clean.

have had quite few these come in latley,rgh is fine,but you need to use the kv from a donor nand,and if you want whatever drive was in it to work,if it was 1175 or hitachi or 1532 use the fcrt and key.bin from the original consoles nand,those drives listed wont work if ya dont

btw these are part of the xbox "entertainment for all " packages. customer agrees to pay 99 bucks for new console,and agrees to pay 15 a month for live for 24 months,they default,consoles locked.

I have done jtag and rgh on about 15 Phats with success on all but one Zephyr rgh with 4578 or something don't recall exactly.

parts and all 65 plus return,as im sure its corona v4,so needs cr and post fix,as well as 4gb qsb.return would be 12 bucks flat rate medium priority usps box.

Yea all you need to do is make a new nand with your old files. Had one last week and used ggbuild.

If you want a console for XBL, go and buy one. I'd never buy a faulty/cheap console for XBL as you never know what's been done to it beforehand (i.e it may already be flagged).
