DONT GO ON LIVE WHEN ENABLED.. u will get ur ass baned and u will cry and that would suck... just disable... and u will be fine.. but i think i kno where u are coming from.. u burned a game to ur hard drive and u dont own that disk its just in ur hard drive and u want to play it on live but u cant cuz the mod chip is always enabled when u play the game that is on ur hard drive... right? In this case .. if u really enjoy playing live for this game just go out and buy that game and disable the mod and play live... thats wat i would do.

I wonder if we will be able to fake the M$ code on games so we can play burned games, without the mod chip on.

It's like playing a burned game with sector protection: You cant. There are EXE's you can replace the originals with on PC games, but it's a little more difficult with xbox.

Assuming like a PC bios any software calls that talk to hardware must pass through the bios first, I've always wondered why the bios can't be made to report fake info (like halomaster7777 mentioned) when requested by the live service. Do we just not know enough about what live is checking for the bans?

Team Executer saves my arse.

I Logged on to Xbox live with the X3 on. I know its a stupid mistake but I was distracted at the time.

MotoGP said - Cant connect to Xbox Live. - I thought sh*t i am banned for sure.

But NO! - the X3 saves the day - The Bios stopped the log on - and I am A-OK.

God you just have to love the X3.

I don't see why.... There is no way to emulate lives server :( I know PC is more easily done... but look at games like World of warcraft... evenwhen games are just in beta... they have free servers... You'd figure... thered be a way to emulate Live... :( I wish.... 99% of the multiplayer games are live... I bought my xbox just to play against my g/f when we're stuck at home... n only one game so far is good for xlink... -_-

X-link, Xbconnect they all don’t work for me because my wireless setup does not support promiscuous code.

I like live any way - I only use the chip for XBMC. But alas I do forget to turn it off some times. So far X3 has saved me from the big bad Bill Gates of Banship.

My other Xbox has a 300GB hard drive in it, and cant be locked. This can never go on-line. I am thinking of flashing the Tsop, and fitting the chip in another box that can go on-line.

this is probably a really dumb question, but I wonder if it would be possible to put a game on a hard drive with the same file system that xbox game disks use then connecting the hard drive where the DVD drive usually goes, but with the yellow dvd power cord still attached to the DVD drive, and with an xbox game in the dvd drive. The dvd drive would tell the xbox that there is a game in the DVD drive, but then when it goes to read the DVD, it would read the hard drive instead of the DVD drive.

Yep. As long as its off. Ive been playing halo 2 with a mod chip turned off for a month and not a problem yet.

Just dont upgrade your hard drive.

just read the last link in my sig for xbl banning and all that stuf. You can upgrade your hdd but that would have to be before you sign up for live. If you already signed up for live, then you will need a new eeprom + a new hdd if you would like to upgrade. If you upgrade now without changing your eeprom, you will be banned untill you get a new hdd and eeprom, UNSEEN from live before. Again, it's all in that link (at the bottom of my sig).
