hi,
i modded my xbox with 2.4 lite long time ago and i saved my bios and hard drive upgrade disk. The bios version is like 79 or something. Now i got a used xbox (not 1.6). My question is can i use the same bios cd with 2.6ce chip or i have to make a new one with the newest bios?

Thanks in advance...

first of all, thanks for the reply...just to be clear...my used xbox is not 1.6, i think it is 1.4 or 1.5 cuz i haven't open it yet...so i still have to use new bios? does the new chip 2.6ce only work with the newest bios?

thanks

The X2 5035 bios zip has two different bin files. One is for 1.0-1.5 (vOld) and the other is for a 1.6/1.6b. Unless you have a 1.6 or a 1.6b, use the vOld file.

The X2 chips will work with a variety of BIOSes, but what would be recommended is the current X2CL 5035. That new X2.6CE you have will (should) have FlashBIOS versions on it that will allow network flashing, much easier than using a disc. Check the FlashBIOS tutorials on the front page for more info on how to use this. Should be a cakewalk to get 5035 on there.
