Using stock HDD in PC?

Hey guys,

My friend upgraded his HDD with a 120 gig. He now wants to take the stock HDD that he took out of his xbox and use it in his computer as an extra 10 gigs of space. Is this possible? If so, can someone point me to a tutorial on how to get it readable as an IDE HD, coz I'm sure I can't just plug it in to my PC and format it like a normal drive. I assume it needs to be unlocked too, and a password might be needed?

Thanks!

okay well lets take this scenario:
My friend upgrades his HD, installs Slayer's and all that junk. Now his HD is out of the box. What is the next step?

He should unlock it before he removes it from the xbox. Then he would have no trouble using it again elsewhere.
