I ordered one of the Via SATA cards that are always recommended (6421 or 6241 or something like that), and I keep getting a certain problem. I boot up using iPrep on a USB stick, and if I have the Xbox 360 DVD drive plugged into the VIA card, and power on the Xbox 360, then I get a Stacks overflow error immediately, which tells me to change my stacks setting in the config.sys.
I've found a work around, which is simply to turn on the 360 without the sata cable plugged into the DVD drive, and then to plug in the sata cable at the appropriate times when I'm supposed to be powering on the 360.
That's fine, and all, but I'm wondering if there's any way that I can fix this problem so I don't have to use a workaround, and I can have it work the way it's supposed to. Since the error suggests changing the stacks in the config.sys, I suppose this would be a good place to start, but how am I supposed to do this? I can't find a config.sys file on the iPrep USB stick. Do I just make one myself? If so, then what commands should I have in there? It's been so long since I've had to do the whole MS-DOS stuff, and even then I don't think I really touched the whole stacks issue, so is there anyone here who can help out with this?
