Using X2 Programmer for X3 flashing

According to X2 Bios Manager 2.3 the X2 Programmer can be used to flash the X3

"v2.3 - Released November 12th 2004
* Now Supports Evox M8 Plus & M8 Bios's hacked with Evotool
* Updated bios.ini with all latest X3 Bios's and some others
* Added X3 01 AD detect for possible X2.6 Programmer hack to flash first 1mb of X3 mod

What is the "hack" required to do this?

The pinheader on the programmer does not match the female end of the X3 chip.

What does the O1 AD in the X3 description refer to?

Any info would be much appreciated.

It's from the read me file included with the bios manager available for download at the xecutor download section.

Oddly? the bios manager download file is an html file which has to be opened with a compression utility, WinRar, WinAce, so that the bios manager can be extracted from the rar file in the html document.:rolleyes:
