USUAL LITEON drive issues

Hi their peeps another liteon thread.

Right just to sum everything up.

I have a liteon 7 series drive. I have managed to extract my key using the probe as pointed out in the instructions. I followed the instructions and suprise suprise drive freezes during the write. Now i have a fairly large paperweight. I have tried using the youtube videos that show restoring the drive in jungle flasher. I have tried dos flash and l-0-eras.exe With no success.

In jungle flasher the drive returns "Drive returned Status 0x7F .................... Device Intro failed! " This seems quite common. I am using my friends ck3 to power the drive not the sexbox itself and have managed to flash a benq previously.

Any suggestions guys ? any help is much appreciated.

If you have the key already, then just click lite-on erase again.

Wait for the first set of dots to finish and when the set row of dots appear then turn the ck3 off/on

You should then be in vendor mode.

Follow guide from there. If it freezes again. it could be a either a via driver issue, which is plastered over so many threads here, you'll find it easy. Or a probably a power drain issue. i.e. Using the same molex connector as the hard drive to power the ck3 and thus in turn the Xbox 360 drive

My liteon 7 gave me a hardtime too in the past, did everything correct but it just didnt get into vendor mode again when i was writing. I read somewere that some liteon's doesnt want to go with the flow... After just giving it a few shots, it took a while thou, it jumped into vendor mode and could flash it again. So, keep trying and follow the guide, it will work eventually.

Thanks for the replies guys. I have followed every guide tried differant sata cables to be sure i power off and on correctly just says 0x7F. i know its not totally bricked and i havent plugged the cable in upside down. i tested the power to the drive with a multimeter its getting 2.8v does this sound correct ? Is their someone i could possibly send this drive to perhaps ! might have to buy the usb pro if i come across this problem again !

yeah its erased no firmware on the flash chip. drive isnt detected. yeah ive tried that too will just keep dotting along for about 5 mins before it says intro failed. even using l-0-eras i cant put this drive into vendor mode 0x72

i beleive its a ck3 lite i power cycle on the second row of dots when the second dot appears. seriously tried it 100s of times.

no im not have seriously thought about purchasing one although id rather just borrow to see if it works !

just not sure its worth the money to use it the once then possibly fail anyways hmmm. will keep trying tomorrow.

Hi guys still no progress with this drive. A strange thing has started happening when i power off then on the laser lights up bright red then dissappears for about a second. anybody come across this ? Its also no stopped appearing in dosflasher and no atapi drives connected.
Just purchased this card to see if it is the problem.
