v0078fk nightmare!

I have the v0078fk hitachi-lg drive and can't get it into modeb .
I have followed the instruction that textbook guide lay out with slax 2 cd but no joy?
iIam wondering if it is the sata card ?
it is this card out of the compatible pci/sata mentioned in the guide

pc boots recognises the hitachi drive on master sata controller then
when slax boots up it just stick halfway through?

any idea???

Or maybe can someone tell me of a pci card that has worked for the Hitachi-LG V0078FK drive?

PCI SATA VIA Chipset 6421a, ebay is your best bet.

Thanks for the reply but the card you mention have you used it for the hitchi-lg v0078fk using slax? as i really don't want to buy another card if im not sure,as i purchased the other card thinking that it would work fine as its in the list of working cards in textbooks guide.
