This is my first go at an xbox/modchip. Previously I've done a megasquirt build, but still I'm thinking that I may have soilder issues. I was getting error 7 after the previous owner was buggering aroung with the HDD and it went up in smoke, but would still boot up. I have a 2.6CE and after doing the full install according to the link on the main page, it quickly reboots twice and stays on, on the third boot, but flashing Red and Orange. Now it does this with only the LPC header installed.
I checked the voltage Pinout for the LPC and have the proper grounds(2 and 12), 3.3's(9 and 15), and 5V(6) pins.
None of the lpc pins are shorted to each other.
Does the IDE cable have to installed to get video/flubber? What would cause me to not get video?
Also if there is a poor connection/no connection between the USB board will that cause a problem? It doesn't seem to be a good tight connection. It will wobble back and forth.
I've tried reheating the soilder joints but to no luck. I'm gonna try to desoilder the Header but don't want to damage the board with heat.
Does anyone have a map of where to check lpc soilder joints, ie where they run to?
