I just installed my 6th X3 into a V1.0 Xbox. I am getting the audio from the flubber intro but am not getting anythin but a blue screen. I am using the original Video cable and original controller. I have checked my soldering and can't find anything wrong. I have undone pins 13 and 14 twice and redone them. I am using a wire install. The X3 has already been flashed with 1959 and works fine in both my 1.6 boxes. Any idea I would appreciate it.

is it a 1.6 bios on the chip? since your getting the flubber screen that means the chip isnt booting to cromwell to be flashed

yourmom got it, there is a bios for 1.0-1.5 and for 1.6

Solution: Boot to back up (hold eject and power button), then just reflash the right bios :)

Re: question

You are going to have to RE-FLASH all over again, I would wait till this new LT+ releases before you have it done again.

You will need to reflash the whole thing. BenQs are easy to flash though. However, since you are using old firmware, your console may be flagged to get banned when you go online. You can check if your console is flagged using XVal 2.0. But right now no firmware / drive is guaranteed safe on XBL since the new AP2.5 checks in the latest dashboard. You should wait for LT+ to come out for BenQ and flash it with that before connecting to Live. You can also just flash back your stock firmware and play original games on Live :D.

Re: question

flashing is not easy for a beginner and if you don't have the tools to do it go back to your friend that did do it or pay someone in your area to have it done. Just paying someone else that knows what the are doing is cheaper than buying tools and possibly messing up your xbox.

when is the new flash coming out?
There is no way ETA right now, I hope it's soon. My opinion is that it will release mid December since last LT was released in January.

It's not a new flash, it's new firmware to be flashed and yes you will need to be re-flashed to apply new firmware.
