I had a 1.4 i installed with an X3 the pinheader way. It worked great, I flashed the bios via http and I was all set. but my GPU was faulty (snow where i was supposed to get a "shiny" effect, as on all Halo backgrounds), i knew that before my install, which is why I wanted to put in a new mb. I found out later that a v1.0 mb is NOT a decent swap, b/c the power supply cable AND the usb cables don't fit right! so, i put my old v1.4, previously modded, no changes, back in my chassis and turned it on. the external switch did not light thought i do see the chip's light is on. now i've read there are two lights on there, but i didn't see two light son. can someone tell me what to check i'd like to get this xbox back to its original modded self... thanks.

will supply pics or whatever if it is needed. thanks for your help.

Well, it's as simple as that ....

There need to be TWO LED's lit on the X3 for it to work - if there arent, check the soldering.

After that, you need the 'X' on the switch panel to be lit blue - this is partly controlled by the d0 connection.

Also check the switch positions.

But start at the 2 LED's on the chip and work from there ....
