V1.4 X3 - Flashed x3294 Bios - Purple Screen then hangs.

I have recently modded a friends V1.4 with an Xecuter3 CE
(also using installing a Front Panel w LCD)
I went through the following steps:

Flashed 1mb Bank (On,On,Off,Off) with x3 3294 Bios.
After restart i got the following error:
Purple coloured intro screen with Xecuter Rox my box then freezes!
Flubber is flashing Orange.

I tried to flash the 2nd 1mb Bios and now i get the same error for both.

I got my Bios form the AIDS v3.10

The backup is still available so I was going to grab another x3 Bios from the usual places and try again but if anyone has any ideas i would appreciate it.

Auto Installer Deluxe was obtained from #xbins...

As mentioned in previous message I am going to get a new bios from #xbins but if anyone had any other comments they would be appreciated.

Just had a comment elsewhere....might try and hold White button when booting to get me to X3 Configlive instead of waiting for it to load automatically on first load.

Okay i have dowloaded Eeprom eraser..as this is the first time this box has been chipped and flashed how can i get this to boot?

i have also downloaded a new x3 3294 bios and flashed...no change!
I'm starting to think this is not fixable.

Just flashed X2 5035.

Booted the usual Xecuter 2 config loading....
then boots to standard m$ Dash.

tried loading the x3 erase eeprom iso (included a dummy file to pad the dvd+r out) and it came up with the not a readable disc.

am burning Auto Installer Deluxe as it might pick that up as a boot disc.
worth a try.

I am also thinking of disconnecting my XLCD front panel bank switches and flashing it without any switches connected...

Did you make sure the name was default.xbe?

Check my password fix link in my sig - there's a bootable disk in there you might want to try..

i grabbed unleashxbootcd.rar

pulled out the unleashxbootcd.iso file and burnt that to dvd+r.

Tried to boot it but no luck.
this is my fourth mod and will definately be my last!

This whole purple thing isn't good news - does it do it with the chip disabled?

Have you ensured the bitsettings on your DVDWriter are set so DVD+R are set to DVD-ROM??

i will check the DVD writer settings now.

Regarding the Purple into screen.
It only does this when i flash the X3 3294 Bios.
I have flashed the Evox M8plus bios and X2 5035 bios both of which did not show purple intro screens.

Evox M8plus ran to intro screen then froze.
X2 5035 ran all the way through then skipped back to original M$ Dash.

I was thinking about opening the xbox and removing the bank switch then flashing it again...is this worth a try?

By the sounds of things, the X2 5035 worked as it should.

I would check your soldering around pins 13 and 14, as these are the difference between the X3 and other BIOSes.

I have a friend with the same version xbox and x3 chip so i will swap his over and see how that goes. That way i can cross off a faulty chip.

My solder all looks okay but i will redo my solder points esp. 13 & 14 and try again.

No i have had enough of it for now.
i am going to wait till my mate is free then throw this chip in his and vice versa that should tell me if it's chip related or install related.

have you any experience in returning Mod chips...must be a hard to prove sort of situation.
