v1.6 2.6CE install problem

i just recently installed the 2.6 with the pinhead and rebuild...when i turn it on with the chip on disable i get the error code 7. when i turn the xbox on with the chip able it goes to the flashbios screen and stops at the initializing ide and just stops...i have a flashing green light without the red...also when i press eject the dvd tray doesn't open in either way with the chip disabled and abled. when i accidently left the ide cable off one time on the hdd the flashbios screen actually went to the part passing the initilizing ide. anyone got any advice on what i should do?

Did you plug the power back into the DVD and hard drives? Is the IDE cable properly seated?

everything is properly pluged in

Check the jumper on the hard drive. Try setting it to cable select. Also take a look at the IDE cable itself to make sure there are no cuts in it. You hard drive may be bad as well.

You need a new dvd drive for starters. The drive should eject no matter what.

i swapped my dvd drive into my buddies xbox and it ejected just fine and when i put my hard drive and dvd into my buddies xbox it come up with a different error code only when i put it in with the hdd...with the dvd swaped into his it works just fine. i also replaced the ide cable and the dvd power cable....also the hdd is the stock one.

Of course you will get an error when you try to move a locked drive from one Xbox to another. The new Xbox won't be able to unlock the drive. It sounds like something either isn't plugged in with your Xbox, or maybe you have a solder bridge somewhere.
