V1.6 X3 logo stays red,

I have a v1.6 xbox date 4/21/04. It has Samsung chip. I am using an X3 i jus ordered from system-mods. I checked and re-checked and re-checked my solder points.

With everything "supposedly" hooked up, xbox boots right into ms-dash.
All switches were left untouched and remain the same as when i got it. I get a red x3 logo with hd leds workin fine.

I hold eject+power and i get the purple logo but no video...

my theory is that if i have an X3 with 3.03 pre-loaded on a non 1.6b, it might be causing me this grief. But its just a theory. I searched all last night and couldnt come up with a fix for this. I have modded about 6 2.6's already and this is my first 3.0 and 1.6 build.

Nevermind i seemd to fix it by overlooking somethign stupid.

But, now after i booted to flash bios screen, i powered down and proceeded to screw in all the mobo screws and stuff and locked in my hd and dvdrom. Now when i boot i dont get anything but ms dashboard, my external switch doesnt even come on anymore.

Suggestions?

Sounds like the DO point might have come lose or something is shorting against something else.

Try uninstalling the mod in reverse, starting with the external switch, until it works.

When you were installing everything else did you accidently knock the chip and might have did something to the solder for the pin header?

When you say you rechecked the soldering again and again, how did you do this? visually or with a continuity tester? If you did it visually you cant really see inside the holes, and might have a cold/dry joint.

I would take the dvd rom and harddrive out again and try booting. Chances are something came loose.

This man speaks the truth.. heh. I removed the lpc rebiuld piece, and just manually used wires to rebuild it. It works perfect now... Slapped an 80 gigger in and and evox is runnin great. thanks for the help people.

game updates

i flashed my samsung with LT.
i backed up my fifa 10. i didnt have all the necessary game updates to play online though. now i do want to play online so i'll have to get the game update.

should i be worried about this? like would microsoft detect my LT firmware through the game update?

the reason i ask is cuz i know i should be hesitant to make system updates and i was just wonderin if game updates were the same way.

m$ cant detect LT on any game updates but watch out for security updates thats what will get u banned.
