I know I'm gonig to get flamed for this but can someone please tell me if wires 4,5,7,8 can be soldered onto the top of the boardfor an X3 v1.6? OR does it have to be below where the rebuild usually goes to? Also, wire 3 I see in the sticky is soldered to the 5V chip on the board where you usually attach the 5V wire that also comes with it. Do both wires go on it? Any help soon would be greatly appreciated as I have to install this today. Thanks in advance.

yes, they can get soldered to the top of the board.

My suggestion is to not use the red wire on the connector and to solder the alt 5v wire as instructed. It's longer!

Fixing e79 by cleaning NAND?

Hi guys.
I've got an xbox that i believe has a corrupted dashboard. It sometimes boots to the xbox logo, but most often just e79s.

I'm almost sure its not a HDD problem.

So, my hope is that i can use JTAG tool to merge my extracted NANDs (which recorded no errors when reading and match) with a clean NAND. I bought the premium from tech-modz but at that time, they only had one Jasper clean NAND (the 256).

I have a 16mb Jasper (as judged by the flash config in JTAG tool).

So my questions:

1. What are the odds of this working? (anyone done it?)

2. Does anyone know if tech-modz has a 16mb Jasper clean NAND in the premium section?

thanks guys

Re: Fixing e79 by cleaning NAND?

clear any dashboard updates, (hold the sync button in and press the power button, remain pressed until the console has completely booted) if you still receive these errors after you can still 'heal' the console, i repaired a console with an E71 error by extracting the kv.bin and injecting it into a XBR3 image (JTAG) i have a clean image of all consoles, i'll be creating a post on 'how to jtag your console'

Re: Fixing e79 by cleaning NAND?

The clear dashboard update does not work. That was, of course, the first thing i tried. This is a legitimately corrupted dash, not a problem with an attempted JTAG.

Could you send me a clean 16mb Jasper and clean 512mb Jasper NAND?

I would be most appreciative and i will let you know how the healing process goes.
