i wonder if the data is logged on the drive itself because I plan on swapping a drive that I powered on through the xbox to another xbox that ill use the connectivity kit with.

Timmie, that's not a bad idea if you have one at your disposal. You should be perfectly fine since the Xbox that the drive is going into isn't being powered on without a data cable.

it records a FLAG!
this has been proven and tested!

I dont profess to be a guru but i do trust the source of the information!

great info... would like more info about it too tho.
1) how would one check the number of flags he/she has, since most get the boxz modded by others?
2) how would one catch this error in real time happening? who know what else they flag/log!?!
3)is it saved to flash chip onboard or hdd or what? would it be a way to erase before live connecting or spoof as "NORMAL" drive? lol
and AS JUST A JOKE!!LOL
4) how would one know if your not just joshing us to market a power dongle? lol..again, just kidding!

What about possibly using Ethereal (http://www.ethereal.com/) to sniff out what exactly is being sent back to Microsoft....

That way, we might be able to confirm if it does send a flag back or not.

The problem is, it would mean someone would need to power the drive without the SATA just to sniff whats being sent.

What I might try, is sniffing what the average Xbox sends to MS. Worth a shot.

well i wonder if you just use a dummy console just to flash and thats it will that show up on another xbox when u put the dvd drive in it should have that error cause u didnt use that xbox to flash it right. Dummy meaning ( a console strickly for flashing )just thinking out load have hitichi with 1.51 but have been playing mw2 orginal game .so far so good been modded for about 4 months

this is getting pretty confusing..... so apart from screwdrivers...the firmware...the pci sata card ... i also need a power unit now... :S

if i never go on xbox live, would this matter? i didnt flash yet but i have booted my box without the drive connected atleast a couple times.

this is getting pretty confusing..... so apart from screwdrivers...the firmware...the pci sata card ... i also need a power unit now... :S

yeah man, best bet is not to mod ur xbox...itll take u work and money, sh*t aint free son

Can't you plug it into your pc?

and does Xecuters connectivity kit fix this?

also whos worried about this error being logged

and is there a way to disconnect the mobo and power it on?

looks like this is a double thread anyhows the other hasn't been answered so i'll post here as it looks like its getting more interest.
i have powered up with the dvd disconnected now seeing this i'm worried about this error log.
someone has mentioned a cd to delete the log on the other thread is this correct and where can i get it or get the file to make it? thanks
