Just installed a 2.6lite into a v1.6b and on initial boot I get the normal frag but then the eject light turns solid red.
Any ideas on what this problem is?

Do you mean FRAG as in reboots x 3, or you just get a blank screen with the solid red light?

It was the normal green/orange frag, then it would turn solid red.
The problem was the chip had a 2.0.6 Cromwell. I reflashed it with an external programmer to 3.03 Cromwell and it worked great. (3.03 due to the m/b being a 1.6b)
I was tested install before re-installing the dvd, hdd, and hooking up the components so I wasn't able to tell if I had the black screen syndrome. Nevertheless, the problem is solved with easy solution.
I did a search and didn't find anyone else who had that problem before so instead of crying and complaining, I just started the usual process of elimination of the usual problems that it could have been.
Found it, solved it, moved on.

i dont feel that the red and blue go quite as good together as thought but otherwise its a nice mod

I used Tamiya spray and it worked great.
