v1.6b issue - flashing orange light?

I there guys.
I modified a v1.6b Yesterday.
I have modded about 40 v1.6s before - however this ones causing me some strife.
After installing the Xecuter 3 and finding the onboard bios (flashbios 3.0.0) did not run in a v1.6b i took the chip and re-flashed it with X3_1959 in another xbox (v1.6a).
The xbox booted fine as per normal and i was able to setup the new hard drive etc.
Then - after around 10 mins while transferring across some files (games) onto the xbox the xbox's fan suddenly powered up to 100% (could hear the diffrence) the screen then flicked to black however the console stayed on for approx 4-5 seconds with the eject light simply flashing orange.
When i tried to start it again it would turn on with the Orange Light flashing and then turn off (asif fragging but with an orange power light).
I waited about 10 mins and then i tried again - it booted fine - loaded dash then after approx 2 mins it did the exact same thing.

I then tried taking out the modchip - unfortunately it crashed again while it was in the middle of Amped 2 (about 3 mins after i had turned it on).

Im not stuck as to what i should do.
Ive checked all the soldering points and nothing is wrong with the installation - i have also tried 2 hard drives becuase i thought that it was possible for the hard drive to be randomly crashing.

if anyone can please help out or knows how this issue can be fixed then please let me know!

i had the same thing happen to me with a 1.6 and a x2.6lite chip i was certain everything was fine, but i had not cleaned the lpc points before install, (slipped my mind) and one of the pins was not making a proper connection, so the xbox was overheating after 10 mins and turning off after flash or orange led, i resolderd the pins about 15 times and couldn't get it to work, but everything looked good, in the end i removed the header pins and the only point that looked like it hadnot been soldered was the very top pin when i removed the pin the hole was like coated with laquer and looked lke it hadn't been soldered too all the other points were nicely tinned with solder, so i cleaned that point and gave it a gentle scrape with an electrical screwdriver till the point turned copper coloured (take your time if u do this as u can break a trace, but im sure u know that :) ) and i resoldered the pin back in and it worked like a charm, i left the xbox with prince of persia 2 running all night got up and it was still on, i dont know if it will necessarily be the same pin on your m8, but i reckon its one of them, by the way ive chipped a couple of hundred xbox/ps2's over the years and i was confident that my soldering was perfect, but i have to admit it was my mistake in the first place for not cleaning up the points first.

i hope u get it sorted m8 and if u do post how so others can learn :)
