Hi - I've looked on various forums and can't find a specific answer to help me... here's my problem... my system bits are :-

- xbox 1.0
- Xecuter 2.6 CE modchip and Xapter 1.0
- external 3 switch to enable/disable mod, protect flash, and choose bank1/2

I plugged in the modchip fine with the D0 wire connected all fine.
I plugged in the external switch cable
I plugged in my network cable
I started up the xbox fine

From the xbox menu, I chose to flash using HTTP as described at :
http://www.teamxecuter.com/flashbios/http.htm

I used x2_5035_vOld_512k.bin

Xbox did it's flashing bar and then automatically powered down as described in the instructions.

Then I just switched the xbox back on and I have the 3 beeps with the red/green flashing on the eject button.

I've checked all connections, but they are fine - and as I've gone through the flashing process I presume they must be fine.

I pushed the external switch to bank 2 to see if that would start up the xbox, but still same 3 beeps and red/green. From the various reading, I thought I am supposed to be able to boot-up bank 2 bios to try again - but even if i could i dont' think i did anything wrong in my steps...

Help please ... thanks!

sounds like you have done everything right (including reading up on the forums too) when you started the xbox up did you boot on bank 1 or 2 as most modchips come with 2 verions of cromwell on them 3.01 and 3.03.
it sound like you never changed the bank switch from the bank that booted to the other bank that needed to be reflashed.
the process may have looked as if it went well, but if your flash transfered and was corrupted in the copying process that would put you where you are now.

get back to us with the info that your bank was on when it started ok and if you changed the switch over to the other bank before you flashed.
also double check the Xapter connections and the switch connections are a snug fit... baz

hi Baz - thanks for the quick reply...

You are right in that I didn't switch from the bank I booted up to the other bank to reflash... did I need to slide the external switch to bank 2 ?

(As for the snug fit of the Xapter - it seems fine - i took it out and put it back in - same result).

Any tips on what I should do next ?

You flashed the right bios and that is 512k in size so if that is a corrupt bios you should at least get Flashbios 3.03 on bank 2, my guess here is that the switch for bank 1 & 2 is defective that's why you're still getting the same result even if you switch to bank 2.

If this the case, you can try disabling bank 1 by cutting the first wire on your switch which is the bank 1/2 select, (this is base on Big_whoopin's schematic). I don't know if you wanna try it but if you have a spare switch then you can just swap the switch.
