Lite Programmer

Any clue? Basically, when installed, no change to the system... The blue light came on and the switch board was all lit up just fine. It's supposed to be pre-flashed with 3.01 and 3.03... Well nothing... So i decided to program it my self with 3.01 for my 1.0 and 3.03 just because, to make it the same as new... When i write, there seems to be no problem. It erases just fine too. But when it comes down to READ and VERIFY... I get this error. I have tried several different boises also.. including cromwell to exov variations... Writes just fine, but no verify... Thanks

I assume the programmer is properly detecting the chip? Do you have this attached via an extension cable from your LPT port or is it right on the back of your computer? I got dodgy results when using a cable, was really hit or miss. Attached the programmer right to the back of the PC and had zero problems.

Since you have the programmer and can do your own recovery (let's assume for now that the write is actually working as it suggests) I'd say to go ahead and write a BIOS to the chip and see what happens when you install it. I'd recommend using the X2CL 5035 BIOS, the latest and greatest from Team Xecuter.

On your install, are you sure you have D0 wired securely and with good connection? If not, you will have the exact symptoms you described on your install. Lights look fine (they only indicate voltage to the chip anyway, I haven't traced it out to see if it is +5v or +3.3v) and no FlashBIOS. If you were still booting and seeing Microsoft under the Xbox logo chances are your chip wasn't really getting enabled due to a D0 problem.

D0 is looking good... I decided to try flashing the chip on another computer... Boom, there goes my Verify error... But now, there is no affect of the of the chip installation on the xbox... I just resodered everything, the pin header, the d0, lan, and hdd... So basically, i have the bios on the chip... but no response from the xbox.

When you boot with the chip in and enabled you get the flubber animation, the Xbox logo with Microsoft underneath and then the MS dash? Is this correct?

I just want to get this straight... a Frag means bad bios?
Frag can mean a corrupt BIOS or a bad connection point on the LPC points.
If you haven't been able to use your chip since you installed it I would guess you are missing one connection on the LPC. Check the LPC points and resolder them just to be safe..

All contacts have been re-soldered... I'll try a variety of bioses tomorrow, cromwell to 3.0.1flash, and some evox and x2 variations... I just hope its not a bad chip...

Honestly, if you were booting off the chip before and still seeing "Microsoft" under the Xbox logo that means the chip was not getting enabled. This is typically a D0 connection problem, although could be bad connection on the switch plugs or a flaky enable/disable switch.

Good to hear you're up and running tho!
