Ok, so this is a post as last resort. I read through hours and hours of tutorials and posts, and I still have a problem. Ok, I am using a v1.0 box and a X3 chip w/120G HDD. Everything installed, flashed and working after a few minor setbacks. About 2 hours after loading/playing a few games, In the middle of a game the Xbox just shut off. Now I'm not absolutely positive cuz the lights were off but I thought I saw a hint of white smoke coming out from the side, I could be wrong! Anyway the aftermath goes like this. The box frags now when I try to boot from the chip (same bank as I was using when it crapped on me), however when I unplug the chip or hold down the power button (to boot regularly) it boots to the original MS dash just fine (goes to clock screen, but I set it and works) When I try to boot the orig. bios (power and eject)...it frags. The 3v blue led comes on but no dice on the 5v. The dipswitch panel also lights up blue (X) with hdd light also when I boot the chip. I checked and resoldered connections, and d0, still the same problem. I'm relatively new to this but am learning quickly thanks to this and other greatly informative sites. But alas I still have my problem and it's driving me up a wall. Anyone please provide any insight if you've had a similar problem or have an idea to fix. I know the first reply will read "check your soldering again"...and I have, with a magnifying glass and also resoldered just to be sure, all clean and looks good. So, before I enter the infinite loop of checking my soldering, I am looking for any other troubleshooting areas that I can exhaust. Thanks in advance to anyone for thier help.

well you were wrong about the first post :p
j/k. you might get these questions from other posters so lets get them out of the way:
did you do a pin header install or a wire install?
does the chip look burnt or (stay with me) smell funny? (the smell of burnt electronics can stick around for a long time(trust me))
and have you tried to boot from the back up bank?

Check you D0 point. Also, make you sure taped up or cut off the 5v pin on the chip as described in the tutorials

Ok, major progression here. So I got the balls up to yank the chip off of the side of the xbox (wire install so had to use the sticky stuff to mount chip) I noticed a thin tape looking wire that was broken, so I figured F it I was about to just buy a new chip and mobo anyway. So i heated the solder gun up once again and low and behold after a few tries my unskilled ass made a good connection. So I plug the chip back in and there it is...my beautiful 5v led lighting up. But still frags  ...So I'm pissed, but now the major progression part is when I push power and eject at the same time I now get the flashbios screen  and it will still boot to the normal MS dash when I hold power down....My only thought is that I need to reflash? possibly? hopefully? I don't have the discs to do so right now but does that sound like the problem? does reflashing stop frags? thanks to anyone for an answer :D

Sounds pretty bizarre. If you can get to the Flashbios screen, you should be able to flash the banks. I had your same problems too after first flashing the bios. But it turned out I was just getting the sequencing wrong on which buttons to push on the bank selector.

Yea I would check what settings your switches are set to. Also what bios did you flash. Most of the time if your only flashing on bios your dips should be set to on on off off off. Make sure that when trying to load the flashed bios you are loading the correct bank that they are flashed on.

Converting xbox game to play on 360

I've tried to convert House of the dead 3 to play on my modded 360. But for some reason, an error appears saying "The game could not start, please download the game again". I created a .dvd file for the layerbreak info, is this needed on a xbox game conversion? I used XDVDMulleter Beta 9.2 to convert my iso to dvd9 size and patched it accordingly.
