Hey guys! I' ve a doubt in which way i should put the xbox 360 whether horizontal position or vertical position, i've heard in vertical pos. the xbox gets hotter and it might scratch the games, is that true? Has anyone measure the temperature in both positions and came with a conclution?? Thank you and i will appreciate your help!Ignacio, all the way down from Argentina.

PS:I've put this post in 2 categories cause i didn't know in which one fit better, thanks.

i say vertical! because the heat can dissapate of all sides of the xbox! iv also noticed that most of the gheat comes out the bottom so if it was horizontal im guseeing that heat will get trapped and thus fry something :D

i dont get it how the 360 stood vertically would benefit at all being as thats where the air is coming into the console, i'd ov thought that would drasticaly reduce airflow an cause major over heating problems

Please don't double post, if you can't decide where it fits better flip a coin or something. Thanks.

People, so what's better? Moderetor you should have the answer! I have it vertical and i've notice the bottom part gets real hot, it also does when is vertical but i can touch it unless i take the xbox out of the ground..jeje.
Thanks

i use horizontal and have no problems. There is really nothing that needs to be cooled on the bottom, all it is is the metal chassis that holds all the components. I have always ran min horizontal and have had NO overheating/freezing issues and i play for up to 5 hours at a time.

From what I've heard, putting it horizontal will decrease the chance of disc being scratch, but I stand my up anyway because I don't have space under my TV.

horizontal is better for the disc to spin due to gravity. you get a less chance of it crashing or disc jamming
