First off, thank you to the developers and engineers that make things like this possible for folks who are tech savvy, but not in the way of things like this. It is much appreciated. Same goes to the moderators and people who run this site and help new idiots like me understand things and hold our hands as we baby step our way through lol. My questions may very well have been answered already, and I attempted to search for them as best I could, but had a hard time getting answers in my understanding or vernacular, if that makes sense.
I have a switch, SN XAW10076466XXX, and according to here and the "is my switch patched" website, it looks like I'm ok. Firmware wise, it's to 8.0.1 official from nintendo. My switch is completely unaltered. My primary goal buying an SX PRO, is to test games to see if they're worth buying. There's literally only a handful of games on the store that have a playable demo, and no "refund" ability if the game is trash that I know of. I want to use the SX PRO to see if the game is worth buying. Just as the devs here deserve money for their time and work, I believe the developers of good games deserve to be paid for theirs as well.
I suppose my first question is;
Is the SX PRO limited to strictly Switch game file extensions? I have a 3DS XL with a DSTwo cart, & that can play 3DS, NDS, GBA games, etc. Curious if the SX PRO has any built in cross platform or homebrew-esque capabilities, like if it's possible to run an SNES or NES EMU within SX PRO for those games.
Second, I assume there is a way to stop the switch from updating it's firmware so it won't screw up the SX PRO? As I said I'm on 8.0.1, so I definitely do not want to have it auto update lol.
Third, is this simply a "switch between the two" type thing? As in, I can boot with the SX PRO if I were trying a game, and if I like it, reboot without it, and buy the game (or a different game) online through the store no problem? I know there is no guarantee of not getting banned, I don't even have or use nintendo online, but just wanted to see if it was as simple as it sounds (like my DSTwo cart).
