very strange problem.. i think

I just got my xbox modded with an x3 chip and got a pro switch with it.

The problem i am having is sometimes the chip works and sometimes it doesn't.

ie. Most of the time when i turn on the xbox the 'X' lights up red and boots into the default microsoft dashboard.

When that happens i have to keep turning it off and on and flicking the switches to different banks, and eventually i can boot it up properly with the blue 'X' and my own dashboard.

The store where i got the modchip put in told me they had flashed the latest x3 bios on the first 1mb bank.

Any help would be appreciated because im not sure if im doing something wrong or the mod chip was installed incorrectly.

P.S. just incase anyone is wondering, im booting up with switches 1 and 2 on and 3 and 4 off.

Update: when it doesn't work i can get the mod chip working by turning the xbox on with the eject button.

does this mean anything to anyone? =)

should i bring it back to the place that installed it?

Sounds like your just pressing the power button down too long.. Try giving it a really quick tap and see if that works..

OMG you are a genius!! thanks soooooo much!!!!!

I didn't even think i press it for that long when i turn it on. Is there any way to increase the time i can press the button before it disables??

Don't think there is a way to increase the time.. you could always just use the eject button.. that's what my son does..
