Everything was running fine, I loaded the dashboard nice and smooth, I went down stairs came up turned it on, now it says error 07. HDD is not even a week old and it works perfectly fine, so I took it out and put in 1 of my 10 stock drives and same thing, changed the IDE cable and it works, you can here the drive boot up, and start to spin,

anyone have any ideas?

Alright well, for some reason I plugged in my 40gb HDD and everything is working fine.

For a weird question, is there any way I can get that info off my 250 (not working), there is a lot of stuff I would like off it. Please let me know.

There are drivers that will allow you to put your unlocked Xbox drive in a PC and get files off it.

If you locked it with ConfigMagic, it has a master password of TEAM ASSEMBLY. I had seen someone report once that this master password worked with drives locked using a different locking program as well, although I don't recall what program it was and no one backed up his story. You'll find all the utilities you need to access the drive from a PC on Xbox-Scene. There was someone around that was providing a service to provide a HDD unlock code for $50, no charge if the code provided didn't work. I think Xecuter had put it up on the front page news (not sure) but it was around in these forums somewhere.

I locked it with the x3 config live x3_3294_16plus.bin

I forgot to add all this b4, when I locked it with the x3 config live, I turned it off, rebooted then the 07 came up.

I thank you for all the help, I really would like to at least get my info back,.

is there anyway to do a "hotswap" like I had to with the x3 chip?

So right after you locked the drive it booted to the error screen? That seems kind of odd.

that is what I thought, the harddrive is fairly new and it worked fine until I locked it. Its not a huge deal I still have 10 OEM drives, but thats not the point :)

there is no way to connect to the PC and do anything when its locked?

I have an x3 and a 2.6,tried it on both, and the same thing...X3 tells me 07 and the 2.6 just shows a frag after the "xecuter config loading" screen.

Nope... that's why they call it 'locked':)

That is weird though... if it is locked... without Config Magic you're boned.... sorry man.

You can tro to re-flash the bios and try that HDD again.... try booting to X3 live and unlocking it.

What happens with the chips off? Why do you have 10 OEM drives? Unless those were unlocked before being removed, they are worthless.

I find locked OEM drives work well to level furniture around the house, drive nails, chock car tires and give out at Halloween. (Charlie Brown doesn't get a rock, but an 8GB HDD.)
