Very very wierd bank select problem

My X3 has worked fine for ages now.
Today while trying to get gr2 to work, I flashed bank 5 with evox bios, to see if it made gr2 boot. It didn't, so that's not my problem. I switched back to x3 bios. Later on I switched back to bank 5 again, and it fragged; on off on off on. I switched back to x3 bios and held white to get into config live so i could flash that bank again. It didn't work, the box just booted to avalaunch...wierd. So I tried doing it a few more times, swapping controllers, unplugging everything else, tried launching xbmc using triggers etc etc, but nothing worked. The controller worked fine in avalaunch, so there was no problem with buttons bieng faulty or anything. Then, I turned switch 1 off (2mb bank) and held white, and config live booted fine. Tried reflashing bank 1234 using backup bios, but it still wouldn't go into config live. Really wierd.
What makes this even weirder, is that whenever I try to flash bank 5 now using config live, it still frags, every time.
It has never done this before, and I don't know why it's doing it now. Any suggestions?

sorry, scratch that, I had the bank switches slightly wrong.

woah your not serious are you? theres a total of 15 bank options so i dont think that would make switch 5 bank five no would it. Actually to control bank you only use the first four switches. think binary. btw, the fifth switch IS flash protect.

when i said i switched to bank 5 i meant i flipped switch 4, not that i switched switch 5 to use bank 5. :?

anyway it doesn't matter i'm surprised anyone even replied to this topic
