Okay i am working on a making a VGA Cable and on my other xbox a internal VGA adapter. Now I have my sync circuit made. But cant seem to get the Pin Lay out for the AIV and the VGA connectors right cause all the tutorials I see leave out vital information such as if your looking at the front or back and whats the top and whats the bottom. Like on the AIV connector is my only problem okay lets say this is the AIV CONNECTOR what is the pin numbering for the xbox cable. Your looking at it from the back side where you would solder the wires to. Make sure you pay attention to the shape of the adapter that helps mark it.

Sorry about the gay typing i did, take the - as one of the pins. there is 12 in each row. and the shape of the connector is a T shape so if someone could point me in the right direction here.

Okay first off my dvd drive is tweaked cause i grew balls and adjusted my pot on my thomson, I will tell you something that was odd as hell though, I bought a xbox from a guy and it was made in 2-X-02 and the lpc holes were filled in and it had a phillps DVD drive but no controller board like the 1.0s but had a fan on the GPU its odd, nothing like any of the xboxes I have seen on here, and worse is that i cant match up the version. Keep in mind this xbox had never been opened either. It just stopped booting up on the guy he had it soft modded. I got it fixed anyway back to the topic. I want to get the vga working cause I am about to release pics of my "X3 Mobile" project. I do not want to go and buy any adapters. This is to be a pure mod. So i just need help with the pins. I was thinking about hard wiring it to my MOBO but i dont know if that would disable the AVIP so i cant hook it up to a tv or what... so any help here would help. If i can find a host I would host pics of my V-sync circuit so you can see how it is layed out. It is just a drawing but gives you the idea any who.

Oh, BTW all the AIV that are above should be AVIP's dont know what i was smoking, guess I am just tired thats all.

OKay guys i am looking at doing this a different way. You know the M$ A/V pack you can buy that has the S-Video out. I want to know "HOW TO MODDIFIY THAT!" LOL I have seen it done. This guy did a really nice job at it two. He set up a 3 pdst so he could select modes and everything. Nice work really, but he just pointed me at that guide on X-S. Now I am not much of a reader to be honest but when it comes to the XBOX I do my home work. I am tring to get Jamerson to show me how he did it so I can do one then write a tutorial for it. Yeah and X-S is alot of repeitive spam if you ask me, I think they should clean that place up.

Opps not to ignore you halo2master but what I am tring to do is make it so I can connect my xbox to a PC's Monitor or Flat Screen LCD Monitor without buying that expensive X2VGA even though it is worth the Money. Also I do not want to hard wire this one to my board like on Jac01 tutorial. Already have done that one and it works great just I cant get video out of the standard AVIP jack now. Dont know why but still working on it.

Here went and got you pictures of what I am talking about

NOTE: THESE ARE NOT MY PICTURES. They belong to Jameson Robert. He hangs out on X-S from time to time. I would like to get him over here to chat. And make a tutorial on this A/V box he made but so far its a no go.

I'm glad you like what I did. I will start working on a tutorial very soon - I've been wanting to do that for a while, with all the questions people on X-S have been asking me. When I do the tutorial, I'll add info for starting with either A/V Pack (The "Advanced" and the "Hi-Def" - the Hi-Def makes it much easier) I figure there's already a semi-decent tutorial out there for starting with the standard A/V cable - I can incorperate a guide for that as well if you guys want.

Now I just need to find time between class, work, and my senior thesis to start on this tut.

Oh yeah look whos here :)
Yeah, the one on X-S for the cable is not very good in my opionion cause when he shows the numbering for the AVIP I cant tell what end is what. Like am I looking at it from the back where you solder the pins on and whats the top and whats the bottom. The connector is shaped like a "T" so is the flat part the bottom or is the smaller part the bottom and ect.... Its just that when I write tutorials I go into great detail with pictures or at least drawings and represintations. Go take a look at the tutorial I wrote in here on repairing traces you will see what I mean about detail. Yeah kinda redundant but it gets the point across.

Okay ladies for those of you who maybe following this. I figured out the pin outs FINALLY! Thanks to no help from anyone.

If your following L33 guide from X-S Your looking at it from the backside where you will solder the wires on. The angeled conners should be on the top. Now I havent got it working yet but that is what I have found out so far

Okay I went ahead and gave into Jared_C01 guide and did a link to my mobo which i didnt want, but however when I would try and turn it on my monitor would stay black and make a clicking noise but no picture... how ever when i was messing with the switches i had them in on, off, on and it said no signal.. Now if I am correct the on, off, on. Should have enabled my VGA monitor.
