Video Blank, Sound OK

I was in the middle of updating my dashboards and using the new xbox 360 skin for XBMC. When, poof, the xbox locked up.

I rebooted and I can hear sound but I can see no video. I was using 1080i output at the time and I have an executer 3 in a v1 xbox.

I have tried the Enigma Video Switch but that did not work. I tried letting it boot and then FTP but that did not work either (makes me suspect the dashboard is not working).

It can boot to my backup BIOS which is FlashBIOS 3.0.0. I can put FlashBIOS 3.0.3 in a 256K bank and boot to that too and I have video just fine. But when I flash X3 3294 and try to boot that, I get sound but no video.

I have also tried holding the white button while I boot (I had switched off live config). I also tried holding down ABXY and still no luck.

My projecter supports PAL but not NTSC-J (it does support NTSC-M and NTSC-N).

So, all in all I am dumbfounded. The xbox essentially works becuase I can boot to FlashBIOS both from the backup and from a regular bank and see the screen just fine.

I someone could hack the FlashBIOS 3.0.3 to have a reset to NTSC-M, well that would be just great. But in the meantime, does anyone have any ideas for me?

I have avalaunch as my dashboard and XBMC installed as an app ( in E:\APPS).

I was in XBMC and changed the resolution to something*720 (cos my projector is a 720p) and then changed the skin to the XBOX 360 skin.

I went exploring in the menu system. I slid the 'blades' a couple of times then it hung.

Because I was tidying up my hard drive too (removing some dashboards I never use), I think I have the double problem of messed up dashboard AND problems with video output. I have no video at all (cannot see the blob). But like I said, can boot to FlashBIOS no problem.

Thanks for the help so far. We are still not there. I am trying a different approach by trying to get FTP to work for me. Do you know the answers to the following?

q. Do you know where the NTSC setting is stored? Is it in the EEPROM?
q. Is the X3 Config setting stored in an INI on the hard drive?
q. What are the default network setting after you flash the BIOS?

I have flashed with x3 3294 and wanted to know defaults so I maybe could FTP into it. My thinking is that maybe the X3Config setting are in an INI. I can FTP in maybe put back a back EEPROM or something. Right now, after fresh flash, it does not show up of my network so I am thinking it deos not default to DHCP (but when I wuse FlashBIOS thru network, I can see it just fine, it uses DHCP).

Sorry to hear about your job loss. I suffered the same fate a couple of weeks ago myself. And my son (our second) arrived yesterday.

If I am on the wrong track above, is there a completely different BIOS I could use with my X3? One that might let me in through FTP so at least I could ensure my hardrive has all the correct files on it?

Last thought. One of the barriers here is that I don't know current X3Config settings but when I try to reset (by holding A+B+X+Y when I power on) it does not work. I can tell becuase my LCD still has my personal quote on it.

Is there a way to reset the X3Config settings. it seems flashing the BIOS does not reset that stuff. That is quite strange. I would like to reset the settings, configure my network around whatever network defaults X3Config uses, and then hopefully FTP in. At that point I have some sort of chance of figuring this thing out.
