Video Codecs On RGH

I know you can play .avi files and .mp4 files on a 360, but it's not native you have to dl codecs. Where is the install file for these so I can play .mp4 and .avi on my RGH?

So I copied the files from the optional media update to the root of my internal hard drive, but I am still getting the error on my 360. Did I miss a step? Wrong media file? --- Is it bc I am missing the Avatar update? Where do i find that installer?

You need to open them in content manager and unlock them. Also make sure kinect avatar data is installed and it will work

Then open those media update files in it and unlock them. Then put them on your xbox

This was my issue. Where can I find a tutorial that shows what the "right" settings should be for my launch.ini file?

What was causing me the big headache was noupdater was set to false, so I had to modify my launch.ini file to show noupdater = true for NXE to auto-launch the update. Was curious what the otehr settings should be as well.

noupdater should always be set to true, as it stops the system from running updates from $systemupdate. This will save your console, as they put this folder on game discs also, and without it if the update is newer then what is on your console, it will try to do a stock update, and kill your system. Should be mentioned, that dashlaunch defaults to this being true.

I have dashlaunch installed and mine was set to false...I had to manually modify the file to set it to true.
