Video is very green and bright.

Hi there, I just installed an x3 on a v1.4. The screen is very green, colors are messed up. I don't know how to explain. The modchip works fine but as the flubber is booting the center is bright yellow and there is a shadow around the screen. Its a brand new chip and a brand new xbox. Games are unplayable.

Wierd story that goes along with it......A friend of mine has the same problem with his unmodded xbox. His TV is a 60" projection TV. Then he tried the new xbox I just bought off him and it worked fine on his big TV. I bring it home and now this new xbox is doing what his xbox was doing on his big screen. His xbox works fine on his other TVs. Can his TV be messing up these xboxs? WHen you first plug in an xbox does it search for region then set it?

I have searched everywhere for similar problems. I can't find a thing.

Describe what connections you are using, composite, component, etc. Do you have the HD pack for the Xbox?

Plese help me any thing is helpful.

I got thee red lights of death and found the clamp fix here so I tried it. Everythingworked fine until 15 min later whebn it froze but it does not red light.When I turn it back on it still works and freezes again. I opened it up to see what was wrong and found out that the was a little thing miss on the solder side of the gpu. I was wonderin what this is and if it can be fixed?

I have attached a picture of what i mean here.

The xbox still works vbut only for about 15 minute give or take a minute. Ifv you look at the picture it's the little thing thats in the red circle. I new with modding so I don't know the name of what it is. I'm wondering if I can re-place it by buying a new thingmajig/

one more thing . When it does freeze and i turn it back on it resets the time . When i first turn on the xbox the time says 7 and it freezes around 7:18 and turn it off. Turn it on time is back to 7.

Dont worry, it might not be anything. if you look around the board there are alot of things missing. some of it is purposful. if you KNOW u broke it of them maybe it is important. How long u had ur xbox? and u culd always bridge the two points wid solder. that culd work.

The fact that ur xbox is freezing might just be a coincidence that u also broke that thing off around the same time it started freezing. try and replace whats left of the thermal paste. (buy artic silver 5 thermal compound, take off the X clamps, take off the heatsinks, remove the old thermal compound, clean it up real good using rubbing alcohol, and also on the heat sinks, apply only a little bit of artic silver (litreli like a grain of rice size) and spread it evenly. Put it all bac together and the freezing shuld stop.

I know its confusing and all but u should get used to it all soon :).
