I know how it feels, I have a samsung as well. Try flashing via HTTP/Network flashing. Works like a charm!

Is the new XBOX 360 Arcade (late last year) flashable?

This might be a simple question but I couldn't find the answers anywhere, so I was wondering if any XBOX 360 bought late last year and early this year flashable?

I am asking this because I plan to buy a $149 arcade and want it flashed, however one of my friends told me some of the ones that came out in the past 6 months aren't flashable. Is that true?

If yes, then my plan is to get an old system which can be flashed from Gamestop. Could someone also tell me what should I look for (ex. Model no. ?) so that I know it can be flashed, when I get one from gamestop.

Thanks,

u can flash all the new drives except the one in the new black xbox 360 if u buy an arcade system u will get a lite-on 93450c drive and yes they are flashable but it requires some soldering
on the drive board the hardest ones yet to flash ill give u some advice go to gamestop and buy a used one from before 6/19/09 all thoes drives are easy to flash!!!!!!!!

it's true what your friend is saying. The arcades will have lite-on drives, but you need to make sure that the manufacturer date is between jan 2009 - july 2009 latest. (if you want to ensure your 360 will be a jasper) any time after this and they can only be flashed by soldering. When I bought my elite, it was 2nd hand so I made sure I could check the date and see if it could be flashed or not. Luckily, I found an elite which was made in May 2009, so it was a lite-on drive and I flashed it when I got home :D

Not sure about gamestop as im from the UK, but you're gonna need to be able to look at the 360 before you buy it (like I did) to ensure you get one that's flashable.

If you plan on buying the console brand new, then you will definatly get the 9 series drive and will need to solder to be able to flash it.

Hope this helps!
