HITACHI NON-79 want read games

ok i have a gdr-3120l ver 59 with a laser from a ver 79 drive in it. and im on dashboard 2.0.14699.0. and i have LT 2.0 on my drive. and it wont read any back up and original games...... can i get some help thanks alot......


ps . how do u know when the board is no good in the drive?

what error do you get when the drive tries to read a game

Is it a recent flash? Did it read Games before? Did it stop reading after a flash? Did it stop reading after changing the laser? Is it a dirty disc error? Is it a play dvd error? Is it an open tray error?

These are just a few things you may mention among others.

You'll get some help when we get some information that's fairly certain.

it didnt even spin to pick up the dvd and when i put the new laser in i got that error

and its the same with originals try cleaning the laser,are pot tweak,are replace laser.i had a 47 give that error with backups but would read originals ok,replaced the laser now reads all,if you have a 79 drive there, put the 59 pcb in the 79 drive and see if it works

if i put the board from the ver 59 in the 79 drive it will play originals games but not back ups

then its the laser how are you burning your backups,

with a ihas burner,it could be your spindle on your 59 drive

ihas burner ? thats the burner for the newer games

yeah you need it for all xgd3 backups because c4evas hitachi frimware does not support truncated xgd3

ya my back ups work on 1.1 now that the 2.0 come out it got my drive fu-ked up or i do.......lol

well if it reads originals ok on 2.0 and not your xgd2 backups its the laser,but if you have burned any xgd3 backups using the truncated method they will not work,and with your 59 drive try the lid of the 79 on the 59,to see if it spins,if not it could be your spindle motor has gone on the 59
