Here is the setup:
My friend has a v1.4 xbox with an Xecuter 2.6. The current Bios is Evo X M8. Whoever did his chip install used Slayers 2.6 for HDD setup and applications (I've never used an auto-installer and I'm not familiar with what Slayers has done with his box) . He has been having problems playing a backed up game both from HDD and disc. Both backup sources are good but the game freezes on intro
. Other games work fine, it just seems to be this one.
I have the same version of Xbox and a backup of the same game yet I've never had the problem that he is experiencing, but then again I'm using an X3 with Bios 3294 (I'm familiar with X3 installs but this x2.6 is BRAND NEW to me!) .
I told him that it could possibly be the Bios and might want to try a different one, say x2_5035_vOld_512k.
The question(s):
What do I need to do in order to get x2 5035 on his chip? I believe Evo X M8 has consumed both banks and therefore there is no FlashBIOS left on the 2nd bank for a reflash of the chip. What I'd like to do for him is get 5035 on BANK1 and FlashBios v3.03 on BANK2. I do not have access to a programer so is this even a possibility?
Also, with his HDD already set up with partitions, applications and games, is there anything that I'll have to do (or not do) in order not to screw that all up?
