Wanto Install Evox... Quick Question...

I have installed the mod in my XBox, and flashed it with X3 3029 Bios.

Could someone please direct me to the next step of "HOW TO GET EVOX on it?"... may be a turorial or something...


ALSO X3 BIOS Question:

When I boot up into X3 Bios, THEN using the menu, I say "Boot with XBox Bios"...
and boot into XBox orig bios and Dashboard.

Does that mean... at this point my X3 mod chip is disabled?
And I can go live (without getting banned)?

It doesnt answer one of first questions I had...

Do I need to flash the bios with Evox bios in order to use Evox Dash?
OR Can I go ahead using X3 Bios that I have on there right now

Yes you can use the X3 bios. Why use Evolution X though? It pales in comparison to UNLEASH X!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Also all I really wanto use this XBox for is Media Center (XBMC I hear).

Dude... dash's and bios's are totaly different. You can run Evox with teh x3 bios. In fact... IMO that's the better way to go.


You just need to get evox... you can get through mIRC at xevolution or something. If you do a search on this forum it'll tell you where to go. Just search Evox. Once you have it you'll be able to make a DVD-R or a CD-RW to make a boot disk. Your xbox will boot off this and load the dash. Once that's done you're going to want to ftp back into your box and tweak your .ini file to make your menu's look the way you want them to.

Then your done!

Infact I was able to get Evox and install it with X3 Bios.

All the menus in Evox are in "non english".
Is that standard or did I download a wrong versionof Evox.

I think you can change the language in the dash though... I'm not really sure.

You don't need the evox bios.... just the dash.

Yes you can run XBMC as an app off of evox... that's what I do.

You just have to edit the evox.ini file to point to the xbmx default.xbe file. It's as easy as falling in love... with a fat chick.

1. You do NOT need Evox Bios, in FACT when I boot with M8 into Evox Dash, there are options that are in red and inaccessible. When I use X3 3108 though BANG, it's all good.

2. You CAN get XBMC to run from the Evox Dash. Want to know the EASIEST way? Download Slayers 2.6 fro mthe usual places. It makes a bootable disc that can prep HDs and the whole 9 yards. If you want to keep the things on your drive intact, simply choose the install apps option vs install a new HD. You'll see it there, and I advise highly that you backup your data.

NOTE: If you MUST backup your data and don't have another dash installed you can go into X3CL and it will allow you to FTP into your HD.
Use the Xbox IP in FlashFXP, login as "X3", and the password will be "X3"
