Yeah cofree is right. I guess the worst they could do is not return it.
There has been different reports from people about how M$ has treated their console with broken warranty stickers.
Some report it is overlooked or not checked & they get a refurb console sent no questions asked.
Other people have reported M$ acknowledged the fault but charged for repair & shipping because the warranty was void.
I have not heard personally of anyone not being sent back their console, but I believe it is more correct that the people have been offered back their broken console untouched at cost to the customer foir the shipping both ways. Which I imagine most would decline?
Those are the risks, you decide.
