sounds like you need to research what each mod is for and what it can do before you think about installing one

OK then fine. What mods do I need to research? As far as I know most of the mods that do what I want to do will not work for my Xbox.
I will fix the drive, but I want to modify my Xbox to copy games onto the Hard drive, run CFW/Homebrew(whatever), play mods for games, and maybe unlock DLCs.
Ok if you want your console to run unsigned code instead of just a flashed dvd drive...
1. In martin c's Roadmap For N00bies Guide it clearly states that zephyr can be rgh2 or RJTAG but they recommend RJTAG for better glitch timings but im not sure if they are still producing them since xbox 360 is being phased out.
2. you need a glitch chip and a nand reader. If you want an RJTAG you need a jr programmer v2 (RJTAG ultimate kit comes with this.) you could also use a NANDX but you won't be able to use RATER to boost your glitch times.
3. The reason I mentioned your slim is because they are the most reliable of all the 360'S and it will outlive it"s warranty from microsoft so if you wanted to make it the best it could be you could make it an RGH2 + A DeMoN that can READ UNSIGNED CODE and an XBOX LIVE SAFE RETAIL CONSOLE ALL IN ONE i have one myself and its awesome.
4. If you buy the RJTAG starter kit you WILL need to buy a jr programmer v2

It also clearly states that Zephyr with dashboard versions 2.0.15572 and up cannot be RGHed.(Sorry if I sound like a douche/smartass here)
I may mod my Halo 4 Slim Xbox in the future, but I want to mod my old one so I can have one that uses unsigned code and not kick myself in the ass forever if I screw up.
Since I cannot buy the Ultimate, I may but starter plus a JR Programmer or everything seperately with the best parts I can find. Since the Cr4 was mentioned, I looked into it and I might buy it when it comes out for R-JTAGing, and if I do mod my Halo 4 Xbox I will be using the CR4.

1. This is not true, RGH2 works on all consoles on all dashboards except xenon. It is recommended to use r-jtag, but you can still rgh2 a zephyr, but boot times are not at all reliable.
2. Yes you can use any HDD/SSD on a JTAG/RGH system, on the phat xbox you have to install it in the case, but on the slim it doesnt matter(Case isnt needed).
So here is what I came up with for a list of what to buy to mod the Phat Halo 3 so far.(I'm just finding the names of stuff and checking them off on a picture of the R-JTAG Ultimate Kit)

Are you sure that it's a zephyr ? I had a halo 3 phat but it was a falcon , also I would personally wait till the CR4 XL it will be good for all the new dashes as well as the boottimes are instant or almost instant . But I would double check what type it is . If it's a zephyr it's not worth the time and many times they don't glitch take a look here and compare it with your xbox power socket http://team-xecuter.com/forums/showthread.php?t=76989
Yes it is a Zephyr, I checked a picture of the powersockets before that show what board it is. I do have an Xbox with a Falcon board sitting on the floor next to me, but as I said before,

Well I would use the falcon bored if it is good then wait till the CR4 XL comes out then you'll have a nice CR4 XL Xbox with excellent times , also if you didn't know already you can use the halo 3 housing that's on the zephyr on the falcon you have as there better then the zephyr
I was wondering if I could swap them, thanks. But do you know what the 3 items in the picture are? That's all I need to add to the list to match up the items in the picture and figure out a price. Or will there be an Ultimate R-JTAG Kit with the CR4 for sale?
The CR4 replaces the r-jtag you don't need both. All the details on the CR4 are coming It will be out real soon. As far as the qsb's and the ribbon cable in the pic you circled they will be in the starter kit already.
So just buy the Start Kit, CR4, and a JR Programmer V2?
*Addition* Yeesh, that adds up to $103.31. If I just buy the CR4, JR Programmer V2, and the CoolRunner QSB Phat v3, it adds up to $74.70 and I'd just be missing the ribbon cable and those 2 other things. What are those 2 other things btw?

Ik it is the R-JTAG kit that's just missing the JR Programmer, but what are the other 2 things I couldn't find that are circled in the picture? I'd like to compare the price of buying everything seperate compared to buying the Start Kit, JR Programmer, and the CR4.
You don't get what I'm saying. I know that the R-JTAG Starter kit comes with EVERYTHING except the programmer. If I were to buy the kit, the CR4, and the JR Programmer v2, it would come out at $103.31. What I want to know though, is what the 2 circuit pieces I circled are, so I can see what the price of buying it all sperate would be compared to the Kit, CR4, and programmer. So far it adds up to $74.70 all bought seperately without those 2 pieces. So where would you buy these seperately so I know their price by themselves?

What you have in the picture is an rjtag Not a CR4 you can't even buy them yet they are not in production as far as I know. What you have circled is a

I know CR4s aren't in production yet, they said they might go into production at the end of June. I did read the thread, and from what the list said saying what was in the Ultimate Kit picture, I could only figure out one of the 2 circled(Post QSB) but not the other one. Now is the CR4 XL going to be for RGHing or R-JTAGing or both? I'm starting to get confused in that area.
