OK, I just installed a Xecuter 2.6 with the LPC rebuild. I used the EvoXM8+ bios modified so that it supports drives larger then 137GB.
I used Slayers 2.5 auto install disc.
The problem is that anytime I try to launch an application or game from the evolution X dashboard, it just freezes up. It goes to the loading screen, but never loads and never goes back to the menu selection. I have to power off the Xbox to get back to the menu.
I know it is not a problem with a hard drive because I put the drive in another modded XboX and it works fine.
It seems to have something to do with the combination of this specific Xbox and the hard drive.
The hard drive is a Maxtor 160GB drive.
I wouldnt even care, but this is the 2nd time I have had this problem. The last time it happened I was also using an Xecuter modchip and I finally had to go and buy a different brand of hard drive to make it work.
Are there certain brands of hard drives that are not compatable? Has this happened to anyone else?
