Just recently found my old Xbox v1.5 that had a weird problem and decided to see if I can get it to work again.

The problem was it was running fine with the Xecuter 2.6 on the pin adaptor for a long time till one day it just stopped. Checked over the chip and adaptor and all was fine, just fragged every time (on/off twice then red/greed flashing)

So I tried two other chips via the pin way (before soldering) but still the same problem. Must mention that with the chips removed the original MS Bios still loads perfectly.

Tried the solder approach but still got the same frag results.

I can't even softmod this as with it being not used in ages I dont seem to have the original HDD around or any of the settings kept :( (so no HDD will work due to the eeprom settings I believe)

Have a perfectly working v1.6 with Xecuter 2.6 installed and was wondering if there is any way I could get the old one to function some how? (just hopefully wana make it into a media player machine)

Long shot I guess, cheers

Have you tried reflashing the bios? coudl be a long shot but no harm in it. Have you checked your D0 point?

D0 would be fine, it only triggers the box to boot off the chip. If there was a problem with D0 he would still be booting to the MS dash.

When you've tried the two other chips, did you use two different switch boards as well, or the same one you had installed initially?
