Ok, last few days I've few boards that have been giving me nothing but trouble 3 xenons and 2 falcons.
What I seem to be getting is continuity between 3 points on the J1D2 point (see attached picture). Example, wired to the 1st xenon, all was perfect, even dumped 3 perfect dumps the 1st time. Unplugged to do the JTAG bit, plugged back in and then it won't detect the flash controller. Falcon one, dumped perfect, installed JTAG and freeboot all good. Placed it back in the casing and tested again and still was able to dump using my sub-d 9 pin from the side of the case. Disconnected and plugged in again bit later and can't detect controller.
Similar thing with someone else who sent me their falcon board which he used the QSB, he dumped the NAND 3 times and then it stopped working. I tested all points and they were perfect.
I removed all soldering on all boards and tested them all with a multimeter, they all seem to be giving continuity reading on 3 points on J1D2 (which corresponds to yellow, brown and black wires of the the NAND-X).
Since yellow is ground, my only assumption is that the soldering on the other 2 points has come in contact with the grounding part of the board!!!!
Any ideas ?
