weird....really weird problem...Weird frag symptoms.

Ok

1.6, X3, installed and working flawless for about 2 months. (infactg it was working this morning)

Heres my problem.
I remove the chip...I frag
Leave the chip there...I frag
Try to enable...I frag
Try to disable...I frag
Quadrupled checked soldering...tested with multimeter...good
I boot the back up....No frag...but a black screen.

Any ideas...

I have another board but i dont want to install on that quite yet. Also Ive installed about 10 of these ships and I dont have a problems with those just this one.

did you break your d0 point? I'm not even going to ask if you did the rebuild. did you accidently solder things together that shouldn't be together?

No d0 is in contact and fine. The rebuild of course i did it. It was installed and working fine...There is no solder splash and the lpc area is a picture perfect install.

SOMEONE COME HELP THIS POOR MAN!!!!!! The only thing I could possibly think of would be that the fan wasn't plugged back into the mobo and it overheated.

no it was it wasnt over heating... however this morning i noticed that my cpu was @ a whopping 147 F...So there is possible damage there but it was workign fine...I wonder if this killed my box. Possible not sure.

maybe arctic silver got under the gpu...I was using arctic silver II (when they actully still used silver).

yep....that was it... musta leeched on me. they found that arctic silver was conductive. when they actully silver in their paste...a spray bottle of rubbing alchol(91%) took care of it....werid

arctic silver is a thermal compound...well my box was runnign fine and in an effor to lower temps that were quite high.. I changed the thermal compound between the sink and the processor...arctic silver is the best compound on the market...well back when they had arctic silver I, II, III they actully used silver in the paste but it was non conductive and it wasnt conductive unless a really tiny amount bridged a connector...well in this case thats exactly what happend. the compound leeched (im assuming) and got under the edve of the gpu...since the gpu is attached via bga it sits raised so spraying with rubbing alchol and drying with an air hose rectifed my problem.

well i was weird cause i was like ok thre chip has been working fine. so i doubt its that and then it started fragging but it was weird all my soldering looked good and tested the same but i resoldered any way same results then i was i looked at teh frag and it was a red orange frag...(pin 5 traqce broken) i examined and it wasnt. i was like now wtf so i started thinking of changes i made...when i pulled the sink i knew what the problem was instantly (arctic silver II is conductive if the bridge between two points is really thin) which it was i removed that fired right up. Additionally I thought my box was running warm well its not its just the lack of evo reporting it properly. in XBMC it shows 120 after 4 hrs of halo2....Not bad @ all

i cant seem to flash my liteon from lt to lt plus is there another option i can do to play ap 2.5 games on it a boot disk a change in the game my console is banned so no worries there

okay still cant flash i just been told that someone else tryed to flash it first when i tried dos flash then you type in the serial didnt work said serial was bad but drive still plays game all games except ap 2.5 i been reading and im im right i can spoof a samsung drive with the key and it will work with samsung right or wrong i can spoof the key and firmware to samsung if so thats what il do and charge double
