Ok, I finally got my xbox to work for a few weeks...again!

Now I noticed some crackling from the TV, and I shut down the xbox. Later I tried to restart the xbox only to have issues with not seeing anything but a black screen. I did some searching and checked everything once over and re-flashed the latest X2 bios.

now I get the video, except sometimes trying to goto the normal xbox screen (modchip off). like I said sometimes.. the the sound issues are still there.

V1.1 xbox, XBMC Dash, X2.6CE... Old one without the pro switch.

Has anyone had issues with the audio or is this xbox dead?

Thanks

Tried Av and RF and just tried component. Still has some humming like the sound is in and out.

I'm going to pick up a new one today since I've noticed alot of threads where this is an issue and this time get a X3 since my X3 works fine.

Thanks Guys

Hi there again.. I went back to take a look at this xbox and tried sreflashing again. I have a new 1.6 and used that AV Cable and also bought a brand new HD Cable pack.

1- When I boot after not having the xbox on for a day or so. I get the message about the config live, then nothing but a black screen.

2- With chip off, it's just a black screen.

3- Now if I switch to bank 2 (My switch has only 2 banks) I get the flash bios 3.0.3 screen without a problem. Then I shut down the power and reboot with bank 1 on and I get the video but as soon as XBMC loads I can hear "crackling".

This happens no matter what TV, and no matter which cables I used.
Should I just try rebuilding the xbox software wise...(meaning completely format the HDD with Slayers and redo it all) or should I scrap the xbox.

Thanks.

Things I've tried:
Switched Video cables: Both AV and Component
Switched TV's
Switched power outlets in the house.
Tried AV and Component Cables on other xbox's (they all work fine)
Tried reflashing the bios. (using latest X2 Bios...x2_5035_vOld_512k)

cool beans. I am able to get audio and video without problems. Now I realized that the bios was bad. Most like corrupted on transfer...

Anyway, I replaced it with the default Bios from the Disk... New issue is I cannot get passed the Xbox Rox My box Screen.

I can go in under the Ultimate Boot CD V. 4 or even slayers to access the FlashX program and re-flash. I tried downloading a fresh copy today of the newest Bios from the usualy places, but it locks on me. Should I go with a M8 Bios and see what's up?

I have the config file from X2 bios on the F:/ drive, but cannot access it with the white button. I can however look at it in text:

Is there anything I an manually change in there.

Thanks

USE X2 5035 BIOS
put x2config in E:/
put the dash you wish the x2 to boot to in x2conig file before you put in E:/ by edit it
EG
; 255 characters max here, format is <drive>:<path_to_xbe>.xbe, e.g. "f:dashes\avalaunch.xbe"
dash1Name = e:avalanuch.xbe
dash2Name = e:evoxdash.xbe
dash3Name = c:unleashx.xbe
dash4Name = c:xbmc.xbe
dash5Name = c:xboxdash.xbe

edit to boot avalanuch.xbe from E:/ folder

Thank You sir. I had the file in the F:/ Folder but for some reason even editing to go to the F:/ it won't work, so I placed in E:/ as you stated and it works fine.

Only issue is that I tried signing up for a new xbl account and i get a message that "cannot connect to XBL service because the software/hardware may have been modified".

Oh well, I'll still have to get another xbox, but hopefully this works for local system link.

Thanks for helping get my xbox working again.

did you go on live with chip on
is your dash in E:/ and not C:/
dash should be in E:/ or F:/
Answering but going to take you're advise in other post. I started that new one since, the issue in this I thought was closed since I got the video working.. Sorry I preluded to the next help topic...

Anyway: Yes F: is the directory of my choice and dash is there, and I've had these for sometime.. but no I always make sure the Chip is off on both.
