GENERAL weird title update problem

hey everyone I loaded dragon age II and red faction armegeddon onto my jtag running the latest FSD with updates applied freeboot 13599 and dashlaunch 2.23 when I goto title update manager it downloads the title updates for both games I turn them on goto load game and it pops up "mismatch version" the title update applied is incompatible I thought maybe it downloaded the wrong TU so I downloaded both TU's to a usb drive from my retail live console extracted them and tried them says same thing but loads fine on my retail live console with disc and if I turn off the TU on my jtag they load fine I am confused as to why it is saying this does anyone have any ideas

I even tried loading then TU's into hdd1:\cache and still same problem but if I disable them the game loads fine

I actually found out why I was told you need to patch the games to get them to work but I guess upon patching them it will throw version mismatch error with title updates as I renamed default.xex.orig to default.xex and it loaded perfect with the title updates is it really still necessary to patch the games on jtags or can you just load or ftp them over and play? I used gamehack v5.2 but I am confused on this or should I try to patch them through xexmenu?
