so you have never seen a flashbios screen when trying to boot from any bank?

if not I think it is highly unlikely that you flashed over anything.

DO NOT start your Xbox with power and eject. That will not work for you. Set you switches to off-on-off-off, and power on with a quick tap of the power button. This should bring up flash bios 3.03. If not, then you have:

1. an install problem
2. wiped 3.03 from your chip.
I have told all of you that i did wrong and flashed over all banks I think

I never get the flashbios screen

now my qustion is, is it possible to reflash if I don't have other xbox v1.0-v1.5

also can i reflash to flashbios 3.03 with cd/dvd or somthing other ?

As a last ditch effort, apparent the new spider programmer is X3 compatable. I read that at Xbox-scene, but never used it, so I can't guarantee it.

::sigh::

what I have been trying to tell you is that when you press power and eject you boot into the 265k backup bios which is flashbios v3.0.1. When you press power and eject the switch positions DO NOT matter, you always boot into the designated 256kb back up.

what you want to do is put the switches in off-on-off-off and boot by pressing ONLY the power button. from you comments i'm still not sure that you have tried this correctly.

Answer me 2 questions:
1. have you ever EVER seen the blue flashbios screen on your tv when you boot your xbox?
2. have you successfully ftp-ed into you xbox and viewed the admin directory?

If the answer to both these questions is NO then I highly doubt you have flashed/erased any bios at all.

perhaps I am explaining it poorly.

Pressing power and eject together boots the back-up bios. No matter what switch settings you have. The back-up bios contains 3.01, which wont work with 1.6b.

3.03 is on bank 5678. Set switches to off-on-off-off, then tap the power button.

Now, if you have flashed over banks 5678, then flashBios 3.03 is no longer on your chip. You need to find a non-1.6b Xbox that you can reflash it on.

I have tried off-on-off-off and quick pressing power the light is blue, but
1. I have NEVER seen the flashbios screen on my tv
2. I have not ftp-ed into my xbox and veiwd admin diroctory,

NO for both

then what is the problem ? are we back to the soldering? I was thinkig to remove all solders and pin header and start from bigening .

So booting off-on-off-off gives you a black screen and orange eject. And booting on-on-off-off does the same? But you can boot OK with the chip disabled?

Is this correct?

This may sound obvious, but make sure the black switch cable is connected correctly. It sounds like your switches aren't working. If your switches aren't connected, your chip would default to bank 1234, which would give you the results you are getting.

Good point. Just check the connectors are fully home, and check the cable isn't snagged on the metal shielding around the controller port.

It's getting too late for this...Good Luck.

thank you alot, I will test the cables and try, but maybe the switch is not working, and I will se if I can join cables that enables 3.03 (off-on-off-off) and if it works I will buy new switch :)

glad we're on the same page now. sorry i couldn't get back to you sooner. you may also want to check that when you power up your xbox with the chip enabled and the xecuter light is blue, check that you have two blue leds and one green/red (depending on the position of your protect switch) coming on on the actual mod chip (bottom side). i believe that one of these leds is the d0 connectivity indicator.

The LEDs on the chip are for power (5v and 3.3v - Blue) and flash protection (green/red)

on the switch I see HDD led blue , and x3 flash blue/red big one

and on the chip or under it when it is mounted on xbox I see just 2 blue leds if the chip is enabled or disabled, I don't see green/red leds :S

Sorry, Green/Red is on X3ce only. Original X3 doesn't have it. However, if you have the original X3, then that solves the mystery!! The original X3 is only flashed with FlashBios 3.01. So you will never find 3.03 on it, no matter what you do. If this is the case, you need to get your chip reflashed in a non-1.6b Xbox.
