I have an XBOX 1.6B with an Xecuter 2.6ce. I have a programmer and I flashed bank 1 and bank 2 to x2_5035_v16plus_512k.bin.The flash was successful. I put the chip back into my xbox and boot it up. I come across a screen that says 13 - Oops! Something is wrong!
I looked around the forums and found, what I thought was the answer. To rename the xbe file according to what the bios is looking for. Still no dice.
On top of that, Ive tried using a cdr, cd-rw ,dv-r.The only one that seems to spin is a cdrw. I have a thompson drive.
Does anyone have any ideas to correct this?
Thanks
John

Yeah, Thompson drives are picky. If you find media that works well with it I suggest you make sure you have some extra.

It sounds like you are on the right track regarding fixing the xbe name. The BIOS should fall back to booting the stock MS dashboard, xboxdash.xbe I believe, if it exists. Does this xbe reside on your C partition? (simple test, if you can boot with the mod disabled then it is there.) If not I would say to go ahead and give your dash this file name and see if X2CL will boot it. If it does exist I would avoid replacing the file and continue troubleshooting, my personal preference is to leave the stock MS bits stock.

Ok Im still suck here
How do I get my dashboard onto my hard drive?
If I were to take my new 250gb hard drive and connect it to my pc..what files would I copy to it,supposing I am using the new Evox dash?

I was able to fix everything using a samsung cdrw!! I spent a day trying to figure out the problem and it turns out I had to use a different cdrw!!
Well everything is working great now. Thanks everyone
