What Bios for 256k Backup

G'day .. i somehow fraged by backup bios. What Bios should I reflash it with .. i tried the original cromwell which gives me a blue screen asking for a cd to be inserted ?

I can I flash the 256 k backup rom. Can't find the info, I know how to flash anything in the other 2 mb flash but not the backup rom.

Thank Crazygoat .. I looked everywhere fo this !! .. could only find 1024k version ?? ..

Grendalf.. download the bios to your hardrive thru ftp. the in the ex menu go to the bios option.. then flash backup bios option and select the file ..

you can only do it in the X3 Config Live Bios

Ok I updated on the backup rom with 3.02 and now I see flshbios 3.02 on the screen. Thanks I needed this information. Also I found that you can also flash the "main rom" and what is this for?

It very well could be. The release from yesterday was an edited copy of the 1.6 firmware which ignored the check that would require the use of the Activate.iso disk. That's great, and I'm happy we have it. They COULD be calling it a 1.61 for the LiteOn I suppose. Someone would need to compare the two and see.

This is basically the same as the 1.6 non stealth from yesterday but it's an 'official' release from Team Jungle, making it 1.61

See, now THAT is interesting. Now I have to wonder whether or not they did the original...or if this is a copy/paste job.

That aside, we got what we needed, and ALMOST in time for Christmas

No one will really ever know until the next ban wave. It is probably the same exact firmware as 1.6, but with the exception of ignoring the "activation" checks.

LiteTouch will be the new firmware that won't be detectable for a while.

no this is 1.61

that means its just the 1.6 updated to run wave 4 and 5.
im running the no stealth patched 1.6 on mine as its banned anyway.

i have just patched the 1.61 to no stealth and an now using that instead.


the patch is simple.

open the liteon firmware file in a hexeditor and goto address 0x3382A and change the 4D into 7F job done.
has same effect as inserting the activate iso into the drive before the game.

In my eyes its nothing to be excited about, still 'unsafe' to play on live.

hey guys .. can you help me out ?
i have lite on drive in my xbox . and a person mod it for me .. i dont know old firmware and other things .. the only thning whhich i know is that its liteon .
can u tel me how to upgrade it wth latest firmware 1.61 unstealth pack . because i dont use live so stealth wont matter for me .. i think . am i true .. waiitng for reply .
