i have a 1.6 xbox and i got a x3 in the mail and i installed it.
when i turned on the xbox i got somthing saying

for help please visit.........

hdd: st310014a 3.09 10.242 gb
dvd: samsung dvd-rom sdg-605f


enable network flashing
load bios from hdd (c:\bios)
load bios from disk
unlock hdd
lock hdd

i want to upgrade my harddrive to a western digital 200gb

please tell me what i have to do next. i have no idea.

i looked on the link but i have a right bios (3.0.1) for my 1.6(a) and just need load the dashboard (i have EvolutionX_Build_3921.rar) onto the xbox and i need to know what i need to do install the 200 gb hd.

please help

have you flashed the chip with the x3 bios yet? that is the first step.

next read the tuts on xbox-scene for swapping hdd's. they have one doing it with the evox dash.

can someone tell me the name of the bios i need to get that supports my 200 gb and where i can get it (irc?). i think it is X3 1959. is that correct?

i flashed the xbox with the banks [on on of of of] and it frags when i turn on the xbox with the switch to [on on of of of]. when i try the xbox with the switches set to {(off on off off off)(off off on off)(off off off on off)} the blue screen comes up.

basically it frags when i set the 1st switch on, and all the others 3 banks work fine.

what am i supposed to do?

so you flashed the chip with the 1st two switches on and flashbios said it was succesful? try turning off all the switches and then booting.

Wow....first learn how to write a message that is understandable.

Now if you flashed the bios with your switches in a certain position,
it makes sense that you leave them in that position when you want to boot with that bios.

Why did you flash your bios and then after change the switches? Burn the
bios then leave the switches alone to see if it worked.

Off the way you originally flashed your chip
(On On off off off) There are only 4 bank switches so I am assuming the fifth off is the flash protection.

Leave it at on on off off off.. To boot that bios....

(Can't believe a person could not figure that out) ????

i am extremely sorry for being such a dumb ass.
i needed a plus and i figured that out this morning.

how am i supposed to put that cromwell back into the chip (the 1st bank)?

Is it ok if I overwrite the x3 1959 with x3 1959 plus for my v1.6a Xbox because I have my Xbox accidentally flashed with x1959 and it is fragging. Can you also tell me if the switches setting are the same if I reflash my Xbox with x1959plus. I just want to make sure before I proceed any further.

I have a v1.0, flashed with the X3_1959, swaped out the original HD to a seagate 200gig, then used the slayers disc to format the HD ,set up the directories, and load up the apps. My question is, when I boot, I get the X3 screen. To get to evoX and the apps I have to go to the boot option on the X3 menu, then it goes straight to the EvoX/Slayers menu. Is this so that the OS and utilities for the X3 can be accessed first? Is there anyway to chnge it?
