What exactly is a bios

I know thats a stupid question and i believe its Basic Input Output System or something along those lines but whats the difference in the vast majority of bios's out there for the x3

Any recommendations for the best one?

Knowing the differences are simple. The more updated versions contain bug fixes, expanded features, etc. Currently, the latest & greatest is v3029. You can check the Team Xecuter homepage in the upper right-hand corner to know what the latest version is. I would imagine a good thing to assume is the latest= the most features= the best.

The bios is the thing that loads on startup, it basicly tells the xbox what to do, like play unsigned code or load this dash ect... Im not sure what the abbreviation (or however its spelled) is but it may be something along those lines
