What holds the dashboard/cb/kernal?

I had an exploitable xenon board that i fried by powering on and plugging in the wrong power cord into the optical drive *doh*

I was wondering if it would be possible to steal whatever holds the dashboard/cb/kernal and put it onto another board. Heck, i'll transfer all the parts if it's posisble.

Somebody wanna give me some insight on this idea?

The bootloaders are stored in the NAND.

The fuses are stored in the CPU - these determine which CB version a console should use.

Is it possible to take the nand and cpu and put it into another board?

Dump the nand from the fried console. That can be done if spi isn't cooked. Then transplant the cpu to a new board and write the dumped nand to it.

One more noob question. Is the CPU in a zephyr transferable to a xenon?

To swap the CPU can i use a heatgun and a thermometer? Or do i need an expensive setup.

you want the expensive setup. The heat gun will cause more damage. as for the exploitable board, I dont get how you fried the board, by plugging in the power on the dvd backwards. The DVD drive might be fried, but if you unplug it and the system still boots, then what you are proposing is more work then getting a new drive, and flashing a new firmware to it.

It doesn't boot at all. I looked and looked and couldn't find anything that fried. But alas, doesn't boot.
